Anne's work predominately involves producing strong, graphic and emotional images of animals and people. She studied at Flagler College in St. Augustine, Florida and at The American College for the Applied Arts in London, England. Graduating Summa Cum Laude, Anne earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Visual Arts and Graphic Design. After several years as a graphic designer, she decided to pursue her life long love of photography as a professional photographer. Her graphic design background is evident in the strong composition of her images. Anne has recently added pet photography to her business. This addition was spurred on when a stray dog, later named Gertrude, joined the family.
Anne has received many awards for her photography including the 'Accolade of Photographic Mastery', the 'Accolade of Outstanding Photographic Achievement', and the 'Accolade of Highest Photographic Achievement' from the Wedding and Portrait Photographers International, WPPI, by virtue of her placement in contests and instruction to other photographers. Anne has studied under some of the most innovative photographers working today, and feels that continuing education is a vital part of her craft.
Bark Photography is a new division of Anne Ledbetter Photography whose focus is on pets. The web site for Bark was launched September 12 2007. This is a natural progression for Anne whose photojournalistic wedding photography has given her years of practice capturing spontaneous moments. Anne can fill any pet photography need from studio work to location shoots.
Gertrude must be mentioned as she is the one truly responsible for Bark Photography. Gertrude was a stray who came to our house one Sunday morning. She was a Lhasa Apso mix dog and life as a stray had left her in bad shape. Her hair was all matted; she had an eye infection and a toe that had to be amputated. We fostered her and soon decided to adopt her. I became completely fascinated with her and how she saw the world. Soon, I had a photography show based on Gertrude. I have always been very fond of animals, but fell in love with dogs after Gertrude came into our lives.
